what we did Sunday & 39 weeks!!

It felt just like a Saturday today. I guess because I know that Doc will be home again tomorrow. yipppeee!! I was lucky today and got some alone time shopping. The kids went down for a nap and slept the whole entire time I was gone. Seriously?!!!! They do that every single time Doc's home with them. So, he got some alone time too. ;-)

I did a little 'fun shopping' at TJ Maxx and then did my grocery shopping at Sam's and Super Target. Since it's a holiday weekend and I was craving something sweet and we have absolutely no junk in the house... I splurged!! We have TONS of cupcakes!! The smallest amount you can purchase at Sam's is a 30 count!! They are so darn good though. I'm already planning on having friends over this week to share them with us. :-)

The boys did all of the yardwork.

This little Southern Belle, well she just supervised!! Isn't the hat adorable?! I loved it when I saw it. Her Nana bought it for her. I can't wait for her to wear it with her cute beach dresses.

Meanwhile... I was in the kitchen making our dinner. I splurged big time today!! I probably put on 5lbs alone tonight eating... I WILL be walking every day this week. :-) Have you guys tried the Velveeta Queso Blanco?! YUMMO. If not, you have got to go get it and make some queso. It was delicious. Doc and I are only used to white cheese dip. In Texas? It's yellow and it is NOT 'cheese dip' it's queso. :-)

I used the whole box of Velveeta, 2 cans undrained rotel, 1 bunch of diced cilantro, 3 green onions diced, cumin, and chili powder. It was DELICIOUS. I can't wait to have leftovers this week. ;-)

I grilled some burgers topped with a slice of cheddar cheese, and some good ole' all beef Hebrew National dogs. :-)

We all sat out back on the patio and enjoyed dinner. The kids ate their dinner just so they could devour a cupcake! ;-) Thank goodness we were outside and Doc could hose down the patio right after they finished.

They were a MESS!!!

They had a fun afternoon helping daddy mow the grass and then playing in the pool.

While I was at TJ Maxx today I found this adorable lamp. Their lamps are so reasonably priced. I LOVE the burlap shade and the base. It was so inexpensive, I just had to have it. ;-) I put it on my Grandma's lingerie dresser in my guest bedroom.

This is a very special 'spot' for me. The dresser was my Grandma's, the framed verse on the wall was in my Grandpa's office, the framed picture on the dresser of my grandparents and me, the dried rose from my Grandma's funeral, and the precious moment is one I gave my Grandpa. I open the dresser drawers even though they are jam packed full of my craft stuff now and it STILL smells like my grandparents. It's the best smell in the world when I go open a drawer and 'smell them'. :-) I miss them both like crazy. They were the best grandparents!!

I hope that you all have had a fun weekend! We all get to relax another day. :-) Not even sure what we'll do, but I'm just glad to have Doc home with us for another day.

My sister, Mallory is 39 weeks pregnant today!! Only 1 more week to go until her due date. I'm so excited for her and I can't wait to know what little baby B is. :-) Any guesses?!

Memorial Day weekend

We dressed the kids in their red, white, and blue for Memorial Day weekend. After I got home from my hair appointment and the kids napped we all went out to do a little shopping.

I love the weekends when we can all go out together. It's just more fun.

I have some hamburger patties and steaks that are ready to be grilled tomorrow and Monday. We are going to be lazy and hangout around the house and just relax. Well, Doc has some yardwork to do!! :-) I'll be trying to relax.

the new do

We were all up this morning around 8:00. Doc went in to get Kinley when she was saying, "mommy" and brought her in my bedroom while I was getting ready. She's always so sweet in the mornings and so happy. Never has cried to get up always just lays there or talks. Lately, she's been saying, "I want out! or I want to eat!" :-) It's cute!!

I had my hair appointment this morning at 9:00. I was so excited to get my awful roots covered and get a cut for summer. Here I was waiting in the chair while my stylist was mixing color.

My beautiful self... oh the things we do to look beautiful! ;-) I actually love my hair appointment days. It gives me some alone time!

Just waiting for the color to process.

All done! I didn't go too short because I still have to be able to pull it back in a pony tail. But, it's all layered and shorter. I really love it. It feels so much better.

The back of it. She also colored it underneath with a dark brown.

I'm all ready for summer! It always feels so great to get a new cut and some color.

I hope that you all enjoy your Saturday! I'm about to put two tired little ones down for a nap and Doc and I have a lot of stuff on our to-do list to complete! Enjoy your weekend!!

the start to our Memorial weekend

It's Friday!! It's Memorial Day weekend... 3 whole days with all 4 of us here at home. Woohooo!!! I'm so excited. I have many memories of Memorial Day weekend with my family growing up in Topeka, Kansas. We always cut roses and flowers at Grandma and Grandpa's house and piled in my mom's minivan and drove around to all of the cemeteries where our loved ones who had gone before us were laid to rest. It was our family tradition! We can't exactly do that anymore living in Texas. I have so many wonderful 'family traditions' from growing up, I hope to build traditions and memories that will last forever with my little ones too.

We had another day of playing outside in the pool and with the water hose! It was a hot one today.

They enjoyed playing in the water, having a Popsicle, and running around. It's always nice to let them wear themselves out playing! ;-) Meanwhile, I just relaxing in the sun with my feet in their pool.

This girl keeps me laughing! I swear, if she is not exactly like her daddy I don't know what! She is WILD. Seriously, she is his little mini me! I think he better be worried.

Kinley and I left the boys at home tonight and met up with my friend Lisa and her three kids at the lake to do our 3 mile walk.

The weather was perfect! It was nice to get some alone time with just my girl. Last night Austin and I had some alone time while shopping at Target! ;-)

I'm so excited for my hair appointment in the morning! You guys, my hair is awful!! I have roots that are so long and grown out and my hair needs a cut. Well, it's getting one. I'm not sure how short I'll go, but I'm ready for a cute bob for the summer! I'll post tomorrow and let you see. ;-) I hope that you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Nighty night. I have to get my little ones to bed, yes it's 10:00.

fun in the sun

Remember how I told you I had a headache yesterday? Well, I came down with this sore throat, fever, aches crap that all of the kids have had lately. UGH. I thought I was going to die last night. Literally. I went to bed at like 7:30 and woke up this morning at 7:00. I felt MUCH BETTER. But, I still am not at 100% yet. What is wrong with me? I start eating healthier, exercising almost daily, lost weight, and I've been sick nonstop for a whole month! It sucks. I'm ready to feel like myself again and feel good.

I woke up this morning downed a few Motrin and got to cleaning my kitchen. It has been a disaster lately. THIS is how I like to view it. I did all of the dishes and cleaned it all up. Awwww, looks good! ;-)

I marinated some steaks all day and I now have them on the grill. I can't wait to bite into one. Mmmm... I love ny strip. I love even more when I can find them on clearance super cheap!! ;-) I've grilled some corn, potatoes, and steaks. Now, my hubby just needs to walk through that door so I can chow down.

I put Kinley down for a nap today and Austin went to his bed for a nap too. I slept for 2 full hours!!! HEAVEN. I can tell you, I must have needed it. I went right to sleep and woke up 2 hours later. It is so nice that I have good nappers and when I'm sick I can get a good nap in. Austin came to snuggle with me when he woke up.

I decided to shove the kids outside let the kids go outside to play in the pool and run around while I picked up the house and got dinner all ready to grill. It's so nice. They need to burn off some energy. I've been sick and they've just been stuck indoors.

They love swimming and playing in the water, blowing bubbles, and running around the yard.

I brought out some juice, goldfish, and pretzels for them to snack on. They were happy!!

They snacked a little bit and played again.

I love summer time and playing outdoors. I love grilled dinners. I love these two!

much better

Well friends, I was able to meet my friend Lisa and the lake today for our walk and get back on track. I always feel so much better after getting my walk in for the day. The kids were happy to be out of the house and of course when we are through with our walk, we let them play!

I'm not sure if you can see it or not, but there are a lot of kite boarders out on the lake. Especially on windy days. It was super windy today!

The kids blow off some steam and wore themselves out.

I'm so happy to report that my little guy is fever free since yesterday morning and is finally feeling a little more like himself. He still says he has a sore throat, but other than that, I think he's on the mend.

Alexis (Lisa's baby girl) and Kinley were just hanging out waiting for the big kids to use the potty so we could get home and have lunch and naps! I love meeting up in the mornings with Lisa and enjoying our walk and talks. It's been fun!

We got home and I fed them both lunch and put them to bed. Austin of course didn't stay in bed, he always has to bug me for a while and then he finally passes out once Kinley wakes up. I did get a nice, long relaxing bath to relax and remove the nasty sweat and 'lake smell' from myself. :-) I just laid in bed for a little while and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I've had a headache, so that's my excuse! ;-)

I can't believe that today is already Wednesday! Gosh, this week has really flown by. I can't wait for this weekend. Saturday, I have a much NEEDED hair appointment. Look at the roots, ladies! YIKES. And I want to get it cut. It's summer time and I just need it short and easy to deal with. ;-) It's also Memorial Day weekend and we get to have a 3 day weekend with Doc. I can't wait. We have lots of stuff to get done this weekend for next weekend. Next weekend is going to be 'BIG'. I'll share more later. ;-)

My baby sister is also 'due' on next Sunday, June 3rd. I can't believe it has gone by so quickly!! I am so excited and can hardly wait to find out if she's got a baby girl or baby boy. I'm really thinking girl. I have been for a while. I just can't wait to receive that phone call and find out. :-) She's 38 weeks in this picture.

Enjoy your afternoon!!

sick.mess.lazy. Is it the weekend yet?

Ugh. Well, I have one sick one who has been in just underwear all day long. Going from his bed to the couch, couch to his bed. Just sleeping and then messing up the house. Oh, and fighting with his sister.

This little one is healthy as an ox just like her daddy and sure knows how to mess up the place. I'm leaving it for daddy to clean up. ;-) Only because I have been super busy all day handling 'his business'. I'll update you all on that later. :-)

Me? I have been a bum all day long in just shorts and t-shirt. I wouldn't dare show you my face. I've just been a nurse to my boy, an entertainer to my girl, and a personal secretary for my husband.

These two are wearing me out for sure. Fighting. Throwing dominoes. "I need a chocolate milk!!" Screaming. Poopy diaper. Oh, it's been a day for sure. Yelling while I'm trying to talk to five hundred people on the phone today. Just a day in the life of a stay at home mom.

You want to come help?! GREAT!!! Look at my sink. Ugh, it is seriously never ending. Like for real. I run the dish washer twice a day. I did do 3 loads of laundry today. I can't do it all. I did cook dinner. Maybe my hubby will be super helpful tonight. :-)

We all have these crazy days. I know it's just because we were stuck in the house all day today and never left. I have to get to the lake tomorrow and walk. We're all going stir crazy!

I hope that your Tuesday was a little better than mine! Enjoy your evening!!

angry birds birthday party

Today was wonderful, I had a little alone time at the outlet mall - who doesn't love some retail therapy?! :-) Then, we had a birthday party to attend this afternoon.

My best friend Lisa's son Drew had his 7th birthday party today. It was an Angry Birds themed party. You are not going to believe these rice krispy treats she made... they're amazing!!
She had the food table all set up on the dining room table. It all was delicious and looked great!
All of the kids were all playing outside on the play scape and playing soccer. The first thing Kinley wanted to do was swing.
Alexis (Drew's baby sister) and Kinley were just as happy as could be swinging. Meanwhile, I was becoming a sweat ball. It was so hot today!!
Lisa planned the party out perfectly! Seriously, like down to the minute. I think you should be a school teacher Lisa!! After the kids played outside for a while, they all lined up and it was time for the pinata!

It didn't last long! After a couple of kids the candy went flying and the kids went running to pick it all up! ;-)

They all received a bag with their name to put the candy in.
Doc stood on the side lines with Alexis and Kinley. They just watched as the kids swung the bat trying to break the pinata.
It was so hot! The kids had so much fun being outside. Kinley and I watching all of the big kids. ;-)

My sweet boy Austin after he had a bagful of candy! After the pinata, the kids all had root beer floats! Gosh, I remember my grandma always making them for us. YUM!!
Next, Lisa had a water balloon fight game! I was so impressed with all of the cute games and activities she had planned. They kids had such a fun time.

At the end of the water balloon game, Lisa and Robert were throwing them at each other. This was the best picture I got. ;-)

The birthday boy Drew! We all sang and every one had their choice of 'angry bird'.
My sweet boy chose the blue one of course.

Kinley and Austin with their angry bird rice krispy treats. I'm embarrassed to say, but Kinley had like 3 of them. :-) Austin didn't even finish the first one, he's not my sweet eater.
Then, it was present time!
All of the kids gathered round and watched Drew open all of his fun gifts! It was such a fun party!

We had a wonderful Sunday! I'm headed to the lake in the morning for our morning walk and then taking a little road trip with the kids to San Antonio! I hope that you all enjoy your week. Night!!
