2011: Year in review & my resolutions

This past year has just flown by so quickly. As I was searching through my photos to choose for each month it made me realize how fast time is flying. Since having children my days are long, but the years are just passing so quickly.

We had one amazing 2011, minus a few bumps in the road and losing my sweet grandmother and Doc losing his mamaw. I feel like I am so blessed for my family, friends, and everything that I have in this life. I do want to make a few changes this year and I have a few goals/resolutions for this new year!
This year I plan to take more time for my children, I want to read to them every single night. I want to set Austin on a better schedule for bedtime and work on him sleeping in his own bed.
I am going to pay off all of our debts this year. We will no longer have consumer debts!
I'm going to have a budget for this year. *I* am going to be better about my spending. We are going to cut out the unnecessary wants and just spend what we need.
I want to grow in my faith. I want to take time daily to read the bible. We are going to get back to church and go faithfully this year. I am starting a new bible study with my girl friends about marriage and I am so excited!
I want to eat healthier and meal plan weekly for my family. I want us to cut down on portion size and make healthier choices for meals.
I want to be a more positive person. This will be a huge thing for me. I want to look at the bright side of things and not the negative side.
I want Doc and I to have a date night once a month. We need the time for just him and I to have a drink, dinner, or a movie. We have to make time for each other and put each other first.
I am going to be better about getting my kids on a schedule. A nightly sleep schedule for Austin!
I want to be a better mom and wife this year. I want to be on my electronic devices less and spend more face to face time with my husband and children. I will just make better use of naptimes and bedtimes! ;-)
I want us to have more physical activity, both the kids and Doc and I. I want to make a point to get the kids outside once a day for a walk, to play in the backyard, or at the playground. We all need more physical activity and exercise.
I want to schedule at least one playdate a week for my kids to interact with other children. I feel that it is necessary for their social skills. Plus, this mommy needs adult interaction too! ;-)

I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year in 2012. I can't believe that this year I will have a 5 year old and 2 year old. Once you get older you realize what your grandparents and parents were always talking about how fast time goes.

Happy New Year!!
