I was up bright and early getting ready and fixing breakfast before either one of my kids even thought about waking. Today, was my day to help in Austin's preschool class. We were almost late because Mr. sleepyhead decided not to wake up until 8:30 when I went in to wake him!
Doc was awesome and worked from home today and kept Kinley for me so I could take Austin and help. It would be nearly impossible to help with a 1 year old! I can no longer use excuses for why I didn't get the laundry done or the dishes... he did it all. He got laundry washed, dishes clean, worked, AND *hopefully* kept an eye on this wild girl. I'm sure she loved having some one on one time with her daddy!
Austin just loves his preschool class. He loves all of his friends and all of the fun activities that they do all day long. Not to mention, he gets to spend the day with his favorite girlfriend, Ava. ;-)He played cars with Conner during center time this morning. Ms. Michele, his teacher said that the boys just love playing with the blocks and cars. She has 4 girls, so I'm sure boys are a whole new world to her. ;-)
I had to bring snack for all of the kids in his class today. I made a pan of rice krispy treats last night to bring. They were a HUGE hit!
Ava and Austin right beside each other during snack time. We were asked to make their placemats at the beginning of the year, you see his in front of him. It is a picture of our family and of his Nana and Papa.
They were doing this cute song about a snowflake. It's so cute to watch them. Austin has a hard time with me being there. He wants to sit in my lap, and for me to be right beside him. I'm sure he does much better and interacts more when I'm not there.
I went to music class with them. Their music teacher is Chinese, so they are learning their colors and numbers in Chinese, Spanish, and of course English. I could NOT believe that Austin as well as the other kids knew the numbers in Chinese. Like seriously... it was amazing!
I had such a fun day with Austin at school and I loved seeing what he does during the day. Oh, to be a preschooler again. They are all so carefree, fun-loving, and of course wild! God bless those preschool teachers, they have more patience than anyone. It takes a special person indeed to be a preschool teacher.
After I was done helping, it was lunch time so I went and ran a couple errands (kid-free!!!) and picked up some Hooter's hotwings. I couldn't wait to get home and see my little girl. It is the most amazing feeling having our child run to you yelling, "mama! mama!" It made me feel so wanted, appreciated, and loved! I can only imagine what Doc feels like each night when both kids are yelling, "Daddy! Daddy! You are home!!!!"
It was nice to be able to have the morning with my little guy. But, I sure did miss my little sweetheart!
Both of my babies are in bed taking naps and I'm enjoying this quiet afternoon to myself. Enjoy your Friday!
