what a day!

This day started off pretty good. Kinley has decided the past two days that she will get up around 7:30am now instead of 8:30. Oh well, I'm up anyway and she is so happy and too cute not to love in the morning anyway! This morning while the boys were still in bed asleep we started cooking breakfast. She always wants me to hold her while I cook, and well you know how hard that is! I was looking at pictures the other day when Austin was 18 months old and I remember him always standing in the chair 'helping' too. She LOVED it!! She even broke a couple eggs and made a mess! :-)

Guess what happened to me that hasn't happened in 6 years? I got pulled over! I knew as soon as I saw the cop in his big SUV turn his lights on that he got me. I was on the phone with my mom. Yes, how embarrassing. I told her I had to let her go because I was getting pulled over. She said, "by a cop?!" :-) I was talking, and upset, and just well, speeding! I went ahead and pulled out my license and had my arm hanging out the window with my license in hand. He said, "you know I pulled you over because you were speeding." No shit? He told me, "you were going 67 in a 55". Opps! He said, "can I see your insurance please?" I flung open the glove box, grabbed my wad of paperwork and started thumbing through it and said, "this day can not get any worse!" He checked it, gave it back and said, "I'm going to go run your license". I figured, great now I'm going to get a $150 ticket AND have to take some damn drivers ed class. Kinley was in the back sound asleep during this entire ordeal. Never even woke up. He came back, handed me my license and told me that I had no driver history and that clearly I'm having a bad day and he didn't want to make it any worse. I told him thank you over and over. Whewwwww. I sure didn't want to waste my spending money for the outlets next weekend on some darn ticket! :-) And yes, I did tell Doc. By the way, he can never get mad at me over getting a speeding ticket! Do you have any idea how many times I've had to complete drivers ed online classes for him for the 3 or 4 speeding tickets he has received since living in Texas?!

After I arrived home we all buckled up in my minivan and went to get some lunch and go shopping for Austin some new sneakers, Doc some new work boots, and a new bike for Austin. Academy sports, Sports Authority, and Kohl's. We found everything but Austin a new pair of shoes. It was rough with two tired kids. Rough!

We found Austin a new bike. The one he currently has was given to us and I think I know why now. :-) It is so difficult to ride. It would not go. Doc just thought Austin had a hard time riding it. Our friends were over last weekend and their 6 year old tried to ride it and had the same problem too. So, we went to get him a new bike.

This one works! It works great! He was riding it all over the place and even knows how to brake now. I am so excited to be able to go on walks now and he can keep up and go fast. Before he was riding the little tricycle, and he is too big for it. Yeah, now we can go out and I can finally get some exercise!!

Starting tonight, I will probably be up all night with my baby my preschooler because I am sleep training him all over again. Well, it never really happened. I really sucked at sleep training my first born. He has been sleeping with us for over a year now and it is really taking a toll on everyone. I'm upset, Doc's upset (I bet you can guess why!) and Austin needs to be in his own bed. I'm ready!!

In fact, I'm going to be more strict. He gets away with too much and I feel like he is the one who rules me. Let WWIII begin. I know it isn't going to be easy, but it's time. We have to start now before we have some crazy wild 17 year old on our hands.

Oh, I was super lazy this weekend and didn't grocery shop OR make a meal plan for this week. I'm just going to wing it this week. So, there will not be any meal planning Monday. I'm sure I'll have something to post tomorrow. Enjoy your week!!! My Mom is flying in on Friday and I'm so excited!!
